Yes, completely. There’s no charge for the initial meeting and no obligation to engage after it. The consultation exists to make sure it’s a good fit before either party commits to anything. If it isn’t the right fit, Susan will say so directly — and often point you toward who would be better suited.
That’s exactly what the meeting is for. Describe your situation when you book — what’s going on with your finances, what’s giving you headaches, what’s upcoming — and Susan will come prepared to identify what makes sense. You don’t need to show up with a specific service in mind.
If it’s a good fit, Susan will outline the next steps: what information she needs, what the engagement looks like, and the flat-rate quote. For tax prep, she’ll send a document checklist. For bookkeeping or catch-up, she’ll request access to review your QuickBooks file before providing a final quote. Nothing happens without your agreement.
Yes — and mention the urgency in the notes field when you book. If you have an IRS response deadline, a tax filing coming up fast, or a loan closing that needs financials, you can also call directly at (530) 221-1609 if you’d rather not wait for the next available slot.
Yes. Tax preparation, bookkeeping, catch-up bookkeeping, and most advisory services are fully remote-friendly. Susan works with clients throughout California via video and secure document sharing. In-person meetings are available for clients in Redding and the surrounding Shasta County area.
The confirmation email includes a link to reschedule or cancel directly. Changes are straightforward as long as there’s reasonable notice ahead of the appointment. If something comes up last minute, call or send a message and it will be sorted out.
