Certified Public Accountant
Issued 2007 · Active & in good standing
Educated locally. Practicing locally.
Susan started in accounting in 1999 with one goal — help business owners actually understand their numbers. After years of watching clients leave bigger firms feeling brushed off, ignored or talked down to, she knew there was a better way to do this.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Accountancy from Simpson University, right here in Redding. In 2007, she earned her CPA license through the California Board of Accountancy — a credential that takes years of education, exams, and supervised work experience to obtain, and one that subjects every CPA to the Board’s ongoing oversight.
So she opened her own firm. Built around everything the big firms weren’t doing — picking up the phone, knowing your business by name, and making sure you actually understood what was happening with your finances. She’s been doing it that way ever since.
Today she serves Redding, Shasta County, and small business owners across California — in person and virtually.
From a first job in the field, to a degree, to a license, to her own firm — here’s how Susan got to where she is today.
Susan started her accounting career in 1999, working with individuals and small businesses on bookkeeping, payroll and tax prep.
Earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Simpson University — the same Redding campus a quarter mile from where she practices today.

Why this matters: An active California CPA license means Susan has full authority to represent you before the IRS — something a bookkeeper or unlicensed preparer legally cannot do. You can verify any California CPA’s license, status, and disciplinary history through the California Board of Accountancy License Lookup.
