The Story

A journey built on expertise and client dedication.

Susan started in accounting in 1999 with one goal — help business owners actually understand their numbers. After years of watching clients leave bigger firms feeling brushed off, ignored or talked down to, she knew there was a better way to do this.

She earned her Bachelor’s in Accountancy from Simpson University, right here in Redding. In 2007, she earned her CPA license through the California Board of Accountancy — a credential that takes years of education, exams, and supervised work experience to obtain, and one that subjects every CPA to the Board’s ongoing oversight.

So she opened her own firm. Built around everything the big firms weren’t doing — picking up the phone, knowing your business by name, and making sure you actually understood what was happening with your finances. She’s been doing it that way ever since.

Today she serves Redding, Shasta County, and small business owners across California — in person and virtually.

Decades of small-business returns and books

Why this matters: An active California CPA license means Susan has full authority to represent you before the IRS — something a bookkeeper or unlicensed preparer legally cannot do. You can verify any California CPA’s license, status, and disciplinary history through the California Board of Accountancy License Lookup.

Beyond the office

Local roots — not just a local address.

Susan was educated in Redding, licensed in Redding, and has spent her entire career here. Her clients are her neighbors, and she runs into them at the grocery store, at church, and at the farmer’s market every Saturday morning.

When she’s not at her desk, you’ll find her with her family, walking the trails at Turtle Bay, or supporting one of the small businesses she’s worked with for years.

Common questions about working with Susan.

Quick answers to what most people want to know before they call.

Is Susan actually a licensed CPA?

Yes. Susan holds active California CPA License #96754, issued by the California Board of Accountancy in 2007. You can verify her license, status and disciplinary history any time through the CA Board of Accountancy License Lookup.

How long has Susan been practicing?

Susan has worked in the accounting field since 1999 and has been a licensed CPA since 2007 — that’s over 25 years of experience working with individuals and small businesses, primarily in Redding and Shasta County.

Where did she go to school?

Susan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Simpson University, right here in Redding, California. She has been continuously practicing within Shasta County ever since.

What’s the difference between a CPA and a bookkeeper or tax preparer?

A licensed CPA has met state-mandated education, examination, and experience requirements and is subject to ongoing oversight by the California Board of Accountancy. A CPA can represent you before the IRS, sign off on financial statements, and is legally bound by professional standards. A bookkeeper or unlicensed preparer cannot.

Does Susan work with clients outside Redding?

Yes. Susan serves Shasta County in person — including Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake, Palo Cedro and Cottonwood — and works virtually with small business owners across California.
